ENGLISH 12 - one semester
Prerequisite: English 11.
This course offers a survey of British Literature from the Middle Ages to present. The focus is placed on developing reading, comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speaking skills. This class is for students who are working at or below grade level. 1 CREDIT
DUAL ENROLLMENT ENGLISH 12
Prerequisite: A minimum B average in English 10 or Honors English 11 recommended. An ACT English subsection score of 18 or a comparable Accuplacer test score and GPA of 3.0 are required by Northeast Alabama Community College.
ENG 101
English Composition I provides instruction and practice in the writing of extended compositions and the development of analytical and critical reading skills and basic reference and documentation skills in the composition process. English Composition I includes instruction and practice in library usage. *NOTE: 11th grade students must also complete a required American literature component via NACC Canvas.*1 CREDIT
ENG 102
English Composition II provides instruction and practice in the writing of six compositions, two of which require research and using outside sources and/or references effectively and ethically, following the documentation style of the Modern Language Association (MLA). Additionally, English Composition II provides instruction in the development of analytical and critical reading skills in the composition process. English Composition II includes instruction and practice in library usage. A grade of “C” or better in ENG 101 or the equivalent is a prerequisite for this course. 1 CREDIT
