ENGLISH 9 (200005) - one semester

Prerequisite:  English 8.

This survey of World Literature is approached through the study of the various types of literature. Students especially focus on the basic language, reading, and writing competencies in preparation for college and career readiness. This class is for students who are working at or below grade level.  1 CREDIT

HONORS/PRE-AP ENGLISH 9 (200006) - one semester
Prerequisite:  English 8 or Honors English 8.

This survey of World Literature is approached through the in-depth study and critical analysis of various types of literature. The focus is placed on completing outside reading assignments and refining the reading comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speaking skills for the advanced level student. Due to the levels of expectations, grades are weighted in this class. Summer reading and projects are required with all assignments due at the beginning of the school year.  1 CREDIT
