  • ENGLISH 11 (200013) - one semester

    Prerequisite:  English 10.

    This course offers a survey of American Literature from the post-Civil War Era to present. The focus is placed on developing reading, comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speaking skills. This class is for students who are working at or below grade level.  1 CREDIT


    A.P. ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION 11 (200014) - one semester

    Prerequisite:  A minimum B average in English 10 or Honors English 10 recommended. Submission of a summer reading contract and assignment are required.

    This course offers an in-depth survey and critical analysis of American Literature from the post-Civil War Era to present. Advanced writing and analytical skills are necessary to succeed in this class. The focus is placed on completing outside reading assignments and refining the reading comprehension, grammar, writing, vocabulary, and speaking skills for the advanced level student. Due to the levels of expectations, grades are weighted in this class. Summer reading and projects are required with all assignments due at the beginning of the school year. Students are expected to take the AP Exam in May. 1 CREDIT
