Foundations of Health Science is a required one-credit course that introduces students to a wide range of health careers. Integrated academics combined with health care knowledge and skills provide the framework for a strong health care delivery system in the twenty-first century. This course is the prerequisite for all the health science courses. It is recommended for students who want to prepare for further study in an array of health-related fields at the postsecondary level.

Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.

Foundations in Education is the foundational course for the Educators in Training programs. It presents a broad overview of the work of education professionals, the history of education, the roles and responsibilities of educators, strategies for creating and presenting engaging lessons and activities, methods of measuring student progress, and the domains of development.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program prepares students to provide direct patient care to the healthcare industry. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the state board exam, become certified, and listed on the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry.
