Anna Hollis
Hello! My name is Anna Hollis, and I am proud to serve as the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor here at Fort Payne Middle School. I am originally from Brookhaven, Mississippi, where I graduated from Loyd Star Attendance Center in 2015. During high school, I was deeply involved in my FFA chapter, serving as a chapter officer all four years. Through both FFA and 4-H, I exhibited market wethers, breeding goat does, and market hogs. My Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project focused on raising and producing market hogs, which earned me the Mississippi FFA State Degree and the South District Farmer Award in my senior year. I also competed in several Career and Leadership Development Events, including Livestock Evaluation and Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
I earned an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Science in Agricultural Extension and Education from Mississippi State University.
After graduating from Mississippi State, I began my teaching career in Waynesboro, Mississippi, where I taught 9th-12th grade agriscience and advised both the senior and junior FFA chapters. I founded the junior chapter for students in grades 3-8, and it quickly grew in membership each year. After three wonderful years in Wayne County, I broadened my horizons and accepted a position in Fort Payne, Alabama, where I have loved teaching and advising ever since.
I am especially passionate about Animal Science and plant growth in the greenhouse, but what I enjoy most is helping students discover their own interests and talents in agriculture. My goal is to inspire every student to explore the many opportunities FFA and agriscience have to offer.
