Title I, Part C- Education of Migratory Children
The purpose of the Fort Payne City Schools Migrant Education Program is to ensure that children of migrant workers have access to the same free, appropriate public education (FAPE), including public preschool education, provided to other children. To achieve this purpose, the Fort Payne City Migrant Education Program works with migrant families to overcome the challenges of mobility, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, and other difficulties associated with a migratory life in order to succeed in school and to successfully transition to post-secondary education or employment.
Funds provided under Title I, Part C will supplement other funding sources to be used for the education of migratory children and their families.
Identification of migrant students and families is accomplished through employment surveys, interviews, and home visits.
