Major grades count for 70% of the overall score.

Minor grades count for 30% of the overall score.

*The only exception to this would be the Algebra 1 students.  Their grades are 70%/30% for the first two nine weeks.  Starting the third nine weeks, the grading changes to 80% for major grades and 20% for minor grades.  Because Algebra 1 is technically a high school course, the grading policy changes to reflect the high school grading policy.
