Ms. Ellie Meeker

Mrs. Ellie Meeker

As a proud Fort Payne Wildcat, born and raised, it is a true honor to serve the students and families of the Fort Payne City School System. I am a graduate of Fort Payne High School and a product of this outstanding school community. It has always been my dream to return home and raise my own children in the same supportive and high-achieving environment that shaped me. I wholeheartedly believe that Fort Payne City Schools fosters a culture of excellence—both in academics and in character.

With over 20 years of experience in public education, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles that have deepened my commitment to student growth and success. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Auburn University and a Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama—War Eagle and Roll Tide! Additionally, I earned both a Master’s in Educational Leadership and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from the University of West Alabama. My professional journey includes experience as a third-grade teacher, Pre-K–4 grade Reading Specialist, regional support staff for the Alabama Reading Initiative, and now, Assistant Principal.

My husband, Jimmy Meeker, and I are blessed to raise our two boys here in Fort Payne, where they are learning firsthand what it means to be a Wildcat. As a family, we enjoy hiking, traveling, and seeking out new adventures. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student in our school feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. It is a joy and privilege to walk alongside them on their educational journey.
